The final report in our criminal appeals reference was transmitted to the Attorney General on 25 March 2014. It will be available on our website once it has been tabled in Parliament.
Applications are now open for the Commission's legal internship program during the 2014 winter university vacation. Applications close Friday, 2 May 2014.
The Commission has released CP15 Encouraging appropriate early guilty pleas: Models for discussion. This comprehensive consultation paper presents approaches that other jurisidictions have taken to encourage early guilty pleas and asks what models can be adopted in NSW to improve the rate of early guilty pleas. The closing date for submissions was Friday 13 December 2013, but we will continue to welcome submissions into 2014.
